Consider the date and don’t delay!

Thinking about applying for Social Security Disability? Consider this: in Social Security’s world, November 2 is legally one month later than November 1.

What this means for you is that if you are thinking about applying for disability benefits you should not wait. If you wait, you could lose an entire month of benefits! For example, if it is November 1 and you decide to wait until November 2 to file your application, you may have just lost an entire month of disability benefits.

A lot of people are surprised when they learn this. A good way to file your application is to call Social Security’s general phone number and make an appointment for them to take you application. Social Security will use the date you called them as being the date of your application. The number is: 1-800-772-1213.
